URBAN OVERLAP
2012, Unbuilt
This speculative urban intervention exaggerates the mundane operations
of suburban planning in order to blend adjacent use zones rather than establish
hard edges between them. Layers of pedestrian paths, vehicular through-streets,
open green spaces, and residential units are superimposed over a site containing
a typical suburban hard edge: a six-lane highway. Rather than segregating these
elements, they are spread across the area creating collisions between commerce,
residences, and public space.
