The
Fishhook Cabin is a weekend retreat for a New York City couple and their
children. The structure is arranged into two programmatic bars, with all
sleeping, cooking, and service spaces assembled in a two-story structure at the
front, while the adjacent leisure spaces extend to the rear and feature an
expansive double-height space.
The living and dining rooms are separated by a monolithic
hearth, which provides access to a fireplace on both sides. The cabin is
unified by a curved roof that extends the length of the structure. Massive
windows on both ends are informed by the roof’s distinctive profile, which give
the residence its moniker.
